Timely Eligibility Processing
Timeliness in adding and terminating employees is essential. All eligible employees/dependents must be added to the Employer’s health insurance plan(s) within 31 days of their eligibility date.
Texas Senate Bill 51 requires the premium to be paid for a member & dependents until the end of the month in which the Employer notifies the carrier of the termination. Since 2005, retroactive terminations have not been allowed by carriers due to this government regulation.
